Jag kom precis in på plats 481 i klass D på Nüburgring Nordschleife i Forza. I hela världen alltså. Lägg märke till att jag inte använde några assists. Ingen ABS, ingen traction control, ingen stability control, ingen curve assist. Jag har lyckats göra den gamla svampiga amerikanaren riktigt stabil.

Tuning är det roligaste med hela spelet och jag har lyckats få en gammal 1970 Chevelle att bli riktigt körbar och perfekt avstämd för klass D (exakt nivå 400). Jag säljer gärna ett tunat exemplar på auktion om någon är intresserad.

I've been a bit worried for the heat of my Inspiron 8600 GPU when playing games lately. With I8kfanGUI I could see that the GPU hovered around 100 degrees celcius and even above that when playing Eve-online. The fan was getting very annoying also always spinning on it's max speed despite I've opened her up and gave both fans a good clean.

I also downloaded ATITool to be able to fiddle around with the GPU and memory clock speed.

My first try only involved Arctic Silver 5 and removal of the crackled heat pads with Isopropyl from Apoteket. Since the heat pads allowed a lot of air space between the heat sink and the chips I spent a lot of Arctic Silver. To no avail. It didn't help much - in fact I had to lower the GPU clock to not over heat it(!).

Today I bought 0,5 mm copper from Clas Ohlson and copied the pdf more accurately. I needed two copper plates for the GPU since the space from the GPU to the heat sink was particulary big.

Result: Amazing so far without the Arctic silver has even had it's 200 hours burn in time. I could easily ramp up the memory speed from 243 to 285 Mhz and the GPU from 337 to 420 Mhz - without the fan even starting(!)

Nothing less than a big "Wow!".

EDIT 2008-06-24: After I've stressed the laptop to the max last night with GTA San Andreas I could establish the fact that I could ramp up the resolution to 1200x764 with max detail and everything was liquid smooth. But I could see that the CPU always was way over the GPU, despite the GPU-overclocking.

So this morning I removed the CPU heat sink and a very nasty looking piece of thin aluminium foil. I scrapped the foil and cleaned heatsink + CPU with Isopropyl and applied Arctic Silver 5. After a couple of minutes of Eve-online I can see that the CPU and GPU now have the apx same temperatures and they both peaked at 71 degrees before the fans started, effectively lowering the temps.

Satisfaction. =)

Nytt arrangemang på växterna, lite mer symmetriskt och väldigt olikt mig med växter i hörnen. Har försökt hålla växtantalet till ett minimum. Nu är det "bara" Bolbitis, arcuata, hc, helferi och nålgräs.

Vi var en sväng till gbg i helgen för att fira lite semester och min födelsedag. Igår på dagen så vanns det 4 kg choklad på Liseberg och på kvällen åts det tvårätters på Fiskekrogen.

Det sippades lite bubbel medan jag valde en hummersallad som förrätt och dagens rekommendation från fiskemarknaden som huvudrätt. Det blev en flaska ljuvlig Chablis till huvudrätten.

Middagen började med en riktig skräll. Som aptitretare fick jag nämligen den godaste soppan och den häftigaste kulinariska upplevelsen jag någonsin haft. Detta följdes av den fräschaste hummersalladen jag ätit och till slut en obeskrivbart härlig bergtunga som serverades med en hummerreduktion, eller var det en portvinsreduktion? När matkonsten presenterades var jag ute och svävade lite på moln så jag kommer tyvärr inte ihåg =)

Mitt bästa restaurangupplevelse någonsin alla kategorier i mitt 34 år långa liv.

Jag undrade under middagen vad mycket mina smaklökar måste gått miste om när det går att trolla fram sådana smaker. Spännande =)
